Lazy Line Painter Jane

Belle & Sebastian é uma banda escocesa formada por jovens universitários e tímidos nerds em 1996 na cidade de Glascow. O nome da banda vem do desenho animado e livro honônimo da escritora e atriz francesa Cécile Aubry que conta as aventuras do menino Sébatien e seu cachorro Belle (cheguei a assistir a alguns episódios e achei o anime bem divertido e dramático também, do tipo capaz de arrancar lágrimas dos olhos).

Conheci a banda num dos períodos mais legais de minha vida, através de amigos inesquecíveis e de minha ex-namorada que infelizmente por um ou outro motivo não os encontrarei mais nesta vida. A primeira música que escutei foi Lazy Line Painter Jane e as músicas do primeiro álbum da banda Tigermilk. Só conheci melhor a banda quando eles se apresentaram no Free Jazz Festival em 2001 quando passaram várias notícias falando sobre a banda, além de vários clips. O que mais gostei na banda foram as vozes dos vocalistas, principalmente a da fascinante Isobell Campbell. Quando ela terminou o namoro com o Stuart Murdoch e saiu da banda continuei acompanhando seu trabalho solo com a banda the Gentle Waves ou em duetos com o Mark Lanegan e o seu trabalho continua tão encantador quanto quando a ouvi cantando Lazy Line Painter Jane.
